The background
MundoAnimalia was originally founded as the go-to destination for anything pets, housing everything from pet advice to veterinary directory.
The website was founded by a large Spanish media conglomerate, also operating other websites in different verticals (health, travel and so on)
Despite its great potential, the previous owners realized that the platform was probably in better hands of someone fully focused on the pet vertical – enter PetMediaGroup
In 2022, PetMediaGroup acquired MundoAnimalia, which meant that we could begin our journey of creating the safest and most transparent destination for pets to find new homes in Spain!
Our transformation
Launched multiple safety functionalities in order to make the platform more safe – KYC identification and a payment system.
Built native apps for MundoAnimalia, and an improved search experience. Suddenly mobile users started growing significantly!
We became one of the few online marketplaces to comply with the new regulation introduced in Spain to protect animals from abuse
